Why Samuel L. Jackson's Death Scene Was Cut From Jurassic Park

So many awesome characters have come and gone in the Jurassic Park franchise...some of them have left willingly, and become legends in the fan community...others didn't get such a privelege. And while its undeniably obvious that a lot of people have died in the Jurassic series, most of them have been mere drops in the bucket, when compared to others who are well recognized to this very day. One such character, is Ray Arnold, Jurassic Park's Chief Engineer. This chain smoking technician was the complete opposite to that of his programming peer, Dennis Nedry, and worked hard on trying to undo the mess that his slovenly coworker had put the island in during the tropical storm. A storm that was unfortunately, more than just a plot point in the movie, as fate would have Hurricane Iniki hit Hawaii during the filming of Jurassic Park in 1992. This unforseen event caused Samuel L. Jackson's character, to sadly be robbed of his very intense death scene, after the engineer goes out to the Maintenance Shed alone, once the system has been shut down. In a recent interview with the A.V. Club, Jackson got to talk about his experience on the film, saying: "I was actually supposed to go to Hawaii, to shoot my death scene, but there was a hurricane that destroyed all the sets, so I didn’t get to go," "All you see is the residue of my body, my arm. But, yeah, I was supposed to be on set." Its kind of disappointing to hear that after all this time, Ray Arnold was supposed to get a send off in the film that would have revealed, EXACTLY what happened to him after he walks off screen to go and restart Jurassic Park. Now, I searched the internet looking for any sort of outline of his death scene and what exactly was supposed to happen to him in the film version, but unfortunately I couldn't find any real evidence on how this would have transpired. Even after reading through the Jurassic Park shooting script, I was unable to come up with any sort of indication, as to how Spielberg would have shot this scene. I have however read the original book, by Michael Crichton, who did a draft of the screenplay before David Koepp came in to do a final rewrite, and the Crichton version of Mr.Arnold's passing, could give us a little more insight into how the character was supposed to go. The History of the Spinosaurus in the Jurassic Park Franchise

The awesome artwork in the Thumb Nail was done by W.Rex! A Very Special Thanks to InGen Executives Brett Rouleau, Daniel Cole, Christopher Siehda, Johnathan Murphy, and Charles Rix! As well as my Game Wardens Paul Chandler and Tyrannical Rex! Seriously, you guys are awesome! :D If you want to Donate to the Channel, click here! : https://www.patreon.com/user?u=9393636 Out of every major Dinosaur created by InGen, none have had more mysterious origins, than that of the Spinosaurus. From what we were told in the third film, this African Apex predator was never revealed to the public by any sort of official announcement that the genetics company had given. Conveniently leaving it out of any conversation, until Alan Grant and the Kirby's came across it in 2001. Even to this very day, very little new information has come out surrounding its creation and no real indication of its present whereabouts have been given to us just yet. With that being said, some of you may find it interesting to learn that the Spinosaurus actually existed within the Jurassic Park franchise, before the canon events of the third movie. While its official History within the Timeline won't technically start until JP3, I feel like I need to go back at the beginning of its involvement in the series, to really do the creature justice. In this video I talk about the news of Jurassic World 3 NOT having any Hybrids! The fact that Colin Trevorrow has designed the new Jurassic World movies as a trilogy and the idea of hybrid dinosaurs is something that will apparently stay with only Jurassic World and Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom. Of course I briefly bring up Michael Crichton and the Indoraptor itself! Personally while the Stegoceratops looked lame, I really enjoyed the Indominus Rex and the Indoraptor is looking cool. I'm interested in going back to the Paleontological aspect of the first two films but I feel like the Hybrids were a necessary development. :D

In this video, I go into a pretty lengthy discussion with both Alastair and Jacob from DangerVille, about How Scary Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will really be! We discuss animatronic dinosaurs, how this film relates to the Michael Crichton books, as well as how excited we are for this particular entry in the series. We also talk about how amazing The Lost World is, so there's that lol :D
